傘形rendered bare — a pictograph of the open umbrellathe canopy on top, the ribs spread, the shaft and handle down the middle
The whole graph is a picture: the canopy (人) on top, four ribs spread beneath it (㐅㐅), and the shaft running straight down to the handle (十). Open it up and you have the thing itself. From the cover overhead, everything umbrella-shaped: 雨傘 rain umbrella, 陽傘 parasol, 降落傘 parachute.
