門義a gate
各聲gè — gives the sounda foot (夊) arriving at a doorway (口)
Tgè → gé — the tone eased
說文 reads it 所以止扉——the prop that holds a door open. The gate (門) sets the field; 各 gè carries the sound, worn to gé. From the door-stay grew the raised structure: 樓閣 the pavilion, 內閣 the cabinet of state.
