TSUMUGU · B2 (est.) · 字
臟
ㄗㄤˋ · zàng
noun — an internal organ; the viscera
字源 FORM — what the parts do
藏聲cáng/zàng — gives the sound and the sense of hidden away艸 over 臣 and 戌 — a thing stored, kept covered
The organs (月) stored deep inside the body — kept hidden, like grain in a store. 藏 carries both the sound zàng and its own meaning of hiding away, so the organ tucked out of sight reads through it twice. From the viscera: 心臟 the heart, 肝臟 the liver, 內臟.
故事 STORY — a scene to remember it by
一塊塊肉(月)收藏(藏)在身體深處——那是內臟。
Pieces of flesh (月) stored away (藏) deep in the body — those are the organs.
