Water (氵) with 貴 guì. Water first leaks through the dyke, then the whole wall lets go at once — to burst, to break (潰決, 崩潰). The image of a line giving way carries into an army broken and scattered (潰敗, 潰退) and a body breaking down (潰瘍, the ulcer). The sound slid from guì to kuì.
