TSUMUGU · C1 (est.) · 字
唐
唐 = 口 + 庚
ㄊㄤˊ · táng
adj — boastful, exaggerated; (loan) the Tang dynasty
字源 FORM — what the parts do
庚聲gēng — gives the soundworn into the 广-and-彐 frame; the clean 庚 is no longer visible
IFgēng → táng — initial and rime both shifted
Big talk out of the mouth (口) — words blown past their size. 庚 gēng gave the sound, though copying wore it into the frame around the mouth, far from táng. The dynasty borrows only the sound: 唐朝.
故事 STORY — a scene to remember it by
嘴(口)一張就是天大的話,沒一句站得住。
The mouth (口) opens on talk too big to stand up — all of it boast.
